Buffalo Cauliflower Wings

Buffalo Cauliflower Wings

Cauliflower wings have been a favorite of mine for so long! I’ve been making my sweet & spicy cauliflower and BBQ cauliflower bites forever, but thought it was time to make some classic buffalo cauliflower wings!

These little vegan bites are the perfect appetizer or snack for both meat eaters and non meat eaters.

Buffalo Cauliflower Wings

Since my other cauliflower wing recipes required individually dipping the florets in egg and breadcrumbs, I wanted to create a recipe that was not only vegan, but easy to throw together.

Guys, this recipe could not be any simpler!

Chop your cauliflower, toss them all in the batter in one big bowl, bake them and mix in your sauce!

Do these taste like actual wings? No, lets be real.

But these cauliflower wings are a fun way to eat more veggies! They’re so delicious as a snack, appetizer or side dish. I love pairing them with my favorite ranch or greek yogurt sauce.

They have the perfect amount of heat, but can be modified if you like things extra spicy.

The key ingredient in these is the Frank’s Red Hot Sauce. I do not suggest using any other hot sauce if you want the classic buffalo sauce taste.

How to make buffalo cauliflower wings:

  1. Cut your head of cauliflower into florets
  2. Mix your flour, spices and non-dairy milk in a bowl to create a batter
  3. Toss your florets into the batter to evenly coat
  4. Bake and mix together with the sauce!

Super simple, so delicious, and a family favorite!

NOTES:
The only flours I would suggest using for this recipe are 1:1 gluten-free baking flour, regular flour or spelt flour. Any other gluten free flours may not yield the same texture

Ingredients

  • 1 large head of cauliflower

  • 3/4 cup 1:1 gluten-free baking flour, or regular flour

  • 1 cup non-dairy milk

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika

  • 2-3 tbsp olive oil

  • Buffalo Sauce
  • 2 tbsp vegan butter, melted

  • 1/4 cup Frank’s Redhot

  • Pinch of cayenne pepper, optional

Directions

  • Preheat your oven to 375 F.
  • Trim and cut your cauliflower into florets. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mix together the flour and spices. Pour in your milk and whisk together until a thick batter forms.
  • Toss your florets into the batter and mix together until each is evenly coated.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and layer the battered cauliflower, making sure to not over crowd the pan.
  • Drizzle the cauliflower with olive oil and bake for 30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Mix together the melted butter and hot sauce in a small bowl. Pour the sauce over the baked cauliflower, reserving some to top at the end. Place the cauliflower back into the oven for an additional 15 minutes.
  • Once done, top with the extra sauce and serve with your favorite dip!
