Sweet and spicy honey jalapeno salmon! The perfect 20-minute dinner to serve over a salad or with your favorite side dish.

Honey Jalapeno Salmon

Salmon is a weekly staple in our house so I’m always looking for different ways to prepare it. During the week I want a recipe that’s quick, yet flavorful, and that could pair well with a simple veggie side dish.

This spicy salmon is the perfect 20 minutes meal. The salmon fillets are seared until crispy, then cooked in a delicious honey jalapeno butter sauce.

How to make honey jalapeno salmon

The ingredients for this recipe are so minimal, and likely ones you already have around! Here’s what you’ll need to make this delicious salmon recipe:

  • Salmon fillets- you can use skinless, or keep the skin on depending on your preference
  • Basic spices, like paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper
  • Butter- feel free to use a dairy-free butter if needed
  • Honey- regular honey works great, but I like taking it up a notch by using a hot honey
  • Jalapeno pepper
  • Fresh lemon juice
  • Chopped parsley

The simple jalapeno butter sauce pairs so well with the crispy salmon. It’s truly the perfect weeknight meal.

This recipe is easy to make, so delicious, and the perfect way to spice up your salmon! If you’re looking for more fish recipes, be sure to check out the other salmon recipes I have on my blog and Instagram.

Ingredients

  • 3 -4 salmon fillets, about 4 oz each

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp paprika

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • Honey Jalapeno Sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter, use dairy-free if needed

  • 1 tbsp honey, I used a spicy hot honey

  • 2 tbsp lemon or lime juice

  • 1 jalapeno pepper, chopped

  • Salt & pepper

  • 1 -2 tbsp fresh chopped parsley, to top

Directions

  • Season the salmon fillets with the paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
  • Heat a medium sized pan on medium heat, then add in the tbsp of olive oil. Place your salmon fillets into the pan and let them sear for about 3-4 minutes before flipping. If you eat the skin and want a crispy skin, place the salmon skin side down into the pan first.
  • After about 4 minutes, flip the salmon and let the other side cook for another 3 minutes. It will continue cooking in the sauce at the end, so it doesn’t need to be fully cooked through.
  • Remove the salmon from the pan and set it aside.
  • To the same pan you cooked the salmon, add in the jalapeno to the remaining oil and cook on medium heat for 1 minute.
  • Next add in the butter, honey, and salt and pepper and cook for another 2 minutes until the butter melts and the sauce thickens.
  • Add the salmon fillets back into the pan, then pour the lemon juice over the fish. Let the salmon cook in the sauce for about 2 more minutes, until its cooked to your liking. Spoon the sauce over the fish while it continues to cook.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and lemon slices, and enjoy!

I made this for my parents, and we all really enjoyed it. I did add green onions in with the jalapeños, and replaced the fresh parsley with fresh cilantro simply because I like it more. But this is a good recipe and will be making it again.
