Rich and decadent dark chocolate cherry smoothie! A refreshing treat for summer to make with fresh or frozen cherries that’s full of antioxidants and protein.

Chocolate Cherry Smoothie

This creamy smoothie tastes like a milkshake, but is packed with feel-good ingredients. It’s made with sweet cherries, almond milk, vanilla yogurt, and a little kale for a boost of greens.

The cherry chocolate combination is a classic that can’t be beat, and makes the most indulgent tasting smoothie thats actually healthy.

It’s the perfect morning sweet fix during the warm weather, and a great way to clean out the fridge.

Dark Chocolate Cherry Smoothie

How to make a Dark Chocolate Cherry Smoothie

This recipe is seriously so simple to throw together, and made with just a few basic ingredients.

Cherries

I used fresh cherries for this recipe, but frozen ones work just as well and yield a thicker, frozen smoothie! If you’re using fresh cherries, my go-to method to easily remove the pits is to place them on a cutting board, and poke the pit out using a metal straw

Yogurt

The yogurt adds a delicious creaminess to this recipe, while providing a boost of protein. I used a vanilla yogurt for a little added flavor, but plain or Greek yogurt work great too!

Almond milk

My go-to liquid for smoothies is unsweetened vanilla almond milk. Any plant-based or regular milk would work as a replacement

Cocoa powder

Unsweetened cocoa or cacao powder provide that rich chocolate taste with a serving of antioxidants

Almond butter

I love adding almond butter to my smoothies for some extra fat and creaminess

Kale

Kale or spinach are my staple greens to add to smoothies. They add some extra nutrients, without compromising the taste

If you like a sweeter smoothie, you can add 1 banana to the mix for a boost of natural sweetness.

Dark Chocolate Cherry Smoothie

Topping your smoothie off with some coconut whipped cream and dark chocolate is totally optional, but gives you a fancy feel right at home! You guys are going to love this refreshing treat!
