The most delicious coffee tahini smoothie is here to change up your smoothie game! It’s made with creamy tahini, sweetened with dates, and packs in that delicious coffee flavor with tons of nutrients.

These smoothies remind me so much of Israel, where I’m currently wishing I was vacationing. They always have the best iced coffees and best smoothies, and this one is a mix of both!

What you’ll need to make your Coffee Tahini Smoothie

  • Ripe bananas- you can use fresh or frozen for these. I love using frozen in smoothies for a thicker smoothie texture
  • Creamy tahini- tahini is ground sesame seed. You can find it in most grocery stores in the nut butter section, or grab it here on Amazon!
  • Medjool dates- my favorite way to sweeten smoothies is with Medjool dates. They’re bigger and juicier than most other dates, and truly taste like candy!
  • Coffee or espresso- feel free to leave this one out if you want a tahini banana shake!
  • Plant-based milk
  • Cinnamon
  • Salt
  • Ice

Blend it all up and top it with your favorite toppings!

These smoothies are delicious for breakfast, snack, or a light lunch. If I’m feeling fancy, I love to add whipped cream and shaved chocolate to them. We all need a little pick me up during the day- am I right?

These smoothies pack in healthy fats, fiber, protein, and most importantly- caffeine 🙂 You guys are going to love them!

NOTES:
1- If you’re using 1 cup of brewed coffee, cut down to 1 cup of milk
2- This smoothie is mildly sweet, which I prefer if i’m having it for breakfast or a snack. If you like an even sweeter smoothie, I suggest adding in an extra medjool date, or 1 tbsp pure maple syrup

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, fresh or frozen

  • 1 1/2 cups non-dairy milk

  • 2 shots of espresso, or 1 cup strongly brewed coffee (see modification above)

  • 2 tbsp tahini (sesame paste)

  • 2 large medjool dates, pits removed. If using smaller dates, use 4

  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/2 cup ice

  • Pinch of salt

  • Toppings
  • Cinnamon

  • Whipped cream

  • Shaved dark chocolate

Directions

  • Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth.
  • Divide among two cups and top with your toppings of choice
