Creamy whipped feta dip with honey glazed walnuts is a delicious dip to make this summer and serve with your favorite toasted bread. Made from a blend of feta cheese and ricotta, and topped with the simplest homemade honey glazed walnuts.  This recipe was made in partnership with California Walnuts, but all opinions are my own.

Whipped Feta Dip

Whipped feta dip has gained all the hype on social media over the last few months- and for good reason. It’s a creamy and delicious dip that and can be made sweet or savory.

Top it off with honey glazed walnuts, and serve it with crackers, crudités, or bread alongside your favorite summer entree!

Honey Glazed Walnuts

Homemade honey glazed walnuts add the most delicious flavor to the top of this dip, and are made with only 5 ingredients. Serve them as a snack, over a salad, or tossed over some ice cream.

Walnuts are one of my favorite nuts to cook with because they are super versatile. Use them as a meat substitute, like in these black bean & walnut burritos, or add them into your favorite sweet dessert.

They’re also highly nutritious, and a great snack option. One serving of walnuts (about 1 oz) has 4g of protein, 2g of fiber, and 2.5g of plant-based omega-3 alpha-linolenic acid.

How to make whipped feta

The whipped feta comes together so quickly, and will stay fresh in the fridge for a few days. Here’s what you’ll need to make this creamy dip:

Whipped Feta:

  • Full-fat feta cheese
  • Ricotta cheese or Greek yogurt
  • Cream cheese
  • Olive oil
  • Garlic
  • Lemon juice
  • Honey

Honey Glazed walnuts:

  • Walnuts
  • Butter
  • Honey
  • Salt
  • Cinnamon

Toss the walnuts in a pan with the butter and honey, then season lightly with salt and cinnamon. I like to start with my walnuts first to give them enough time to cool off.

The whipped feta ingredients get blended together until smooth, then topped off with the honey glazed walnuts.

Finish off the dip with a drizzle of honey, olive oil and some thyme for garnish!

This dip is seriously addicting, and a perfect summer appetizer to serve your family and friends.

Ingredients

  • 7-8 oz feta cheese
  • 2 tbsp ricotta, or substitute Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp honey

Honey glazed walnuts

  • 1 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

Garnish

  • Olive oil
  • Honey
  • Thyme for garnish
  • Flakey salt

Directions

  1. Starting with the walnuts, add the butter, sugar and spices into a small saucepan and stir together over a low/medium flame until thick, for about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Once that’s smooth, stir in your walnuts and let them cook in the mixture for another 2-3 minutes. Set that aside while you prep your feta dip.
  3. Add in all of the whipped feta ingredients to a blender or food processor, and blend together for about 2 minutes, scraping down the sides as needed to make sure everything gets blended well.
  4. Once the dip is smooth and creamy, spoon it into a shallow plate or bowl. Pour the honey walnuts over the center, then top it with a drizzle of honey, olive oil and some thyme.
  5. I suggest plating the feta with walnuts right before serving. If you want to prepare the components in advance, you can store the feta dip and walnuts separately in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  6. The whipped feta may harden in the fridge when stored. I recommend letting it sit out for 10 minutes before serving!
