Homemade Granola

Homemade granola is surprisingly so easy to make, and can be flavored so many different ways. These maple cinnamon granola clusters are the perfect fall-flavored snack to make this season, and are made with only 8 simple ingredients.

Serve it over yogurt, with your favorite milk, or as a snack when you want something sweet.

maple cinnamon granola

I’ve always been a fan of cluster granola pieces. In my opinion, they pack in way more flavor, and are a lot more fun to snack on.

Clusters have the perfect crunch from the oats and nuts, and filled with delicious maple cinnamon flavor.

I love serving them with vanilla Greek yogurt and cinnamon sauteed apples for a warm and cozy breakfast.

How to make homemade maple cinnamon granola

The base of any granola recipe is rolled oats, sweetener, oil, and the flavorings. There are so many ways to flavor your granola, but here’s what you’ll need for this delicious maple cinnamon flavor:

  1. Rolled oats
  2. Chopped walnuts or pecans, or a mix of both
  3. Refined coconut oil
  4. Pure maple syrup
  5. Coconut sugar
  6. Cinnamon
  7. Vanilla extract
  8. Salt

Toss everything together in a bowl, then flatten the mixture onto a baking sheet. Bake on a low temperature for about 25-30 minutes, until crispy! The hardest part is waiting for it to cool to break it apart, but definitely worth it! 🙂

Pro tip: add some freeze-fried apples to the mix after the granola is baked for a fall-inspired apple cinnamon flavor!

This delicious maple cinnamon granola is sweet, crunchy, and the perfect little snack prep for the week. Serve it over yogurt, with some milk, or alone as a snack.

I can’t wait to hear what you guys think!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans, I used 1/2 cup of each
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted. Use refined oil for a neutral taste
  • 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the coconut oil, maple syrup, coconut sugar, cinnamon and vanilla extract and whisk until smooth.
  3. Fold in the oats, nuts, and salt and stir together until combined.
  4. Line a medium baking sheet with parchment paper and flatten the mixture on to the pan. Form one large section in the center of the sheet pan, pressing the mixture together so that it’s compact.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the top is golden brown.
  6. Let it cool completely, for at least 30-40 minutes before breaking into clusters.
  7. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.

I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect granola recipe for my family – we eat granola daily and paying $9 for the higher end brands just was getting ridiculous. We wanted something cinnamon-y and minimal ingredients (think Purely Elizabeth). I’ve made 6 or 7 different recipes at this point and the family has deemed this the winner! This will probably be our go to for years to come. Thank you so much for the recipe!

This is the BEST granola I have ever made! Easy and quick and so delicious! I cut down on the amount of coconut sugar a tad and it is plenty sweet still! Thanks for sharing this incredible recipe!
